Meet the Principal
Dear Weber Community,
I'm absolutely thrilled to continue my journey with all of you as your school principal! This year marks my 17th in education, though my love for teaching began much earlier—right in my childhood basement classroom. My 11 years as a teacher taught me the immense joy of truly reaching every student, every day. I learned that student choice and voice are vital to learning, and I cherished those "magical" days when students “had a light bulb moment” academically and socially. These experiences, and values I believe about education, led me to my leadership journey.
Relationships are the heart of learning. We're committed to making sure every student at Weber feels safe, connected, and truly supported, academically and socially. We will intentionally build a strong sense of community for everyone. You'll see me daily—greeting students and families, and engaging throughout the school—because connecting with our students is the best part of my day.
The student experience is something I wholeheartedly believe in. Our job as educators is to make learning engaging and relevant, connecting it to the world around us. Learning can certainly get a little messy, but we strive for every student to feel success, growth, and joy. In the end, we're always looking for growth in every learner. My goal is to have every student find joy in some part of their day. Weber should be a place where students want to come learn and grow and we will work together to make sure that happens for all students.
Learning and improving is something I deeply value. I look to past experiences to guide my decisions for the present and future. This commitment means I'll always listen thoughtfully, seeking to make things better every day.
Shared leadership is key to our success. I see our staff and families as true partners, all committed to our shared vision. Every stakeholder—teachers, parents, staff, and community members—has an important voice and role in making Weber thrive. I'll model what it means to work together, share ideas, and respectfully navigate differences.
Collaborative learning is truly a lifelong skill, and it's something we'll actively reflect throughout our school. Both adults and students will engage in collaboration. As adults at Weber, we'll work together to ensure the very best student experience, and we'll also facilitate opportunities for students to build their own collaborative skills.
Most importantly, I believe in every single child who walks through our doors at Weber, no matter what. Students bring their own personality, strengths and areas of growth every day; we're dedicated to a culture that supports each one.
I feel truly blessed to be your principal and part of the Weber community. Together, we will make a difference in the lives of our students. Together, we can achieve remarkable things for our students.
In Kindness,
Kara Pancoast
